It's been a couple of weeks since my last journal posting and in that time I have finished another piece. Entitled, "Hikaru - Vol I Cover Art" it's a bit of cover art for an original graphic novel project I've been developing. It's a new direction for me, as I haven't done much in the way of portraiture with digital painting. Though there is always room for improvement, I'm rather happy with it, as it shows a noticeable improvement over the techniques displayed in my unfinished ""Invocation of the Heavenly Muses, In Progress" WIP.

Meanwhile, aside from work and everything else I've been up to, I'm currently tackling a rather ambitious list of non-commission pieces that I'm just itching to get under way. Time and schedule permitting, I'd like to get them all done by the end of summer, though we'll have to see about that. The list is composed of at least six more space art pieces from my "Visions of the Solar System" series, a few digital paintings and a couple of satirical cartoon panels. Lately I've really been trying to challenge myself and broaden my artistic horizons as much as possible, trying-out and experimenting with new techniques and dabbling in things, I've never really dabbled in before. Should be fun, if not a tad frustrating at times.
